Madison Ave. Evansville, Indiana 47715 "He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever." Psalm 112:9 30 May A.D. 2001 Wednesday in Exaudi week Dear friends of the Britain Mission Society, May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, risen from the dead and ascended into heaven, be with you. Amen. It's been quite a year for us! Already, we have provided hymnals for Luther-Tyndale Lutehran Church in Kentish Town (London) and for St. Peter (Plymouth). Another congregation, Redeemer Lutheran (Harlow) has requested hymnals also and we will fill their request when we get their particulars. I just finished writing a check for $750 to St. Andrew (Ruislip) so that they may buy 60 Bibles. Many thanks to all of you who have helped make these good works happen. Your support for this work is amazing to me. You are like our fathers who supported the Missouri Synod from Germany. You give your prayers and money to help those whom you have never seen. Thanks be to God for His good and gracious gifts! Some good news. The congregation in Cambridge (Resurrection) has helped form a new congregation in Suffolk near some U.S. military installations. The congregation is comprised of British and American Lutherans. It is an amazing thing to witness our brethren start a new congregation in a land which is increasingly pagan. I know the value of having a Lutheran church when one is in the military. I had none available to me when I was in the Navy. Let us thank God with a united voice for His marvelous deeds of salvation. Amen. Please remember our British Lutherans in your prayers; both in the Divine Service and in your homes. The work is very hard and the results are oftentimes meagre. So it is that I exhort you and those whom you know to rise up to help. The peace of Jesus Christ be with your spirit. It is our contention that those who truly hold to the ~Book of Concord~ as the pure exposition of Holy Scripture and the true confession of the Christian faith are also the most zealous supporters of the preaching of the Gospel in every corner of the world and, as such, ought to be kept thoroughly informed of how those endeavors are faring and shown how they may be rightly carried out without the destruction of orthodox doctrine and practice that some within the pale of Lutheranism now advocate.
