Robert Rahn, rrahn@lhfmissions.org To: Confessional Lutherans in Missionary Boldness, CLiMB@CAT41.org For Immediate Release By Rev. Robert L. Rahn, LHF Executive Director 1-800-554-0723 French Video On Worship Released By LHF The Lutheran Heritage Foundation, Sterling Heights, MI, has released its production of a French edition of LITURGY - Yesterday, Today, and Forever featuring Professor Art Just, Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, IN. The presentation spans two videos and comprises 12 lectures, 20 minutes each, for a total of 240 minutes. The production was under the direction of Julie Stanfel of Convera Media Commons, Fraserville, Ontario who supervised the technical aspects and Rev. David Somers, Montreal, Quebec, who served as a special theological consultant. Jean Belanger, a French literature teacher of some 34 years served as narrator. "Jean had a voice that made French sound like music", Julie Stanfel observed. The video presents, in detail, the development of Liturgy from the time of Creation taking us through Jesus' incarnation and ministry, beyond His death and resurrection, up to the present time. The production also contains nearly 400 text and graphic scenes. The video is expected to find its way outside Quebec to the mushrooming francophone Lutheran missions in Haiti and West and Central Africa. Virtually nothing Lutheran in audio was available in French anywhere in the world. It is also a product that has already found use with the visually impaired. "With the help of Professor Just and many others involved, the Lord has given us new tools with which to further enlighten Lutherans as to the treasures within their Liturgy and Confessions," Rev. Rahn stated. In addition to the video, several other books authored by Dr. Wilbert Kreiss, President of the Evangelical Lutheran Church Synod of France and Belgium, will soon be available in French. The first is an updated edition of Luther's Small Catechism and the second volume is called a Manual of Christian Doctrine. The latter is a condensed version of a large three volume treatise the LHF published several years ago which earlier covered dogmatics and homiletics. It is hoped that these volumes will have a broader audience. Interested individuals are asked to contact the LHF for free copies of all materials in the French language. Additional information about the LITURGY - Yesterday, Today, and Forever video can also be obtained by calling the LHF at 1-800-554-0723. It is our contention that those who truly hold to the ~Book of Concord~ as the pure exposition of Holy Scripture and the true confession of the Christian faith are also the most zealous supporters of the preaching of the Gospel in every corner of the world and, as such, ought to be kept thoroughly informed of how those endeavors are faring and shown how they may be rightly carried out without the destruction of orthodox doctrine and practice that some within the pale of Lutheranism now advocate.
