Stefanski, )" To: Subject: CLIMB: LHF Mission News Date: Friday, November 02, 2001 12:54 PM For Immediate Release By Dr. Robert Rahn LHF Executive Director Ms. Suzanne Zobel Joins LHF Staff Ms. Suzanne Zobel joined the LHF as the newest member of the staff on June 1, 2001 to serve as Mission Education Counselor. Ms. Zobel’s duties will include establishing and furthering relationships with parochial schools, Sunday schools, LWML’s and other women’s groups. She will also be involved in helping to promote the use of LHF translated materials through varied communication mediums in addition to print. Suzanne received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Valparaiso University, Indiana in 1977 with a major in psychology. In 1986 she received a Master in Parish Education from Concordia College, Seward, Nebraska. She also received Director of Christian Education Certification from Seward with majors in theology and history. Suzanne has had a wide variety of parish and mission experience that includes a Director of Christian Education position at Peace With Christ Lutheran Church, Fort Collins, Colorado, from 1982-1986, Director of Youth and Education with Bethany Lutheran Church, Long Beach, CA, from 1986-1990, Minister of Church Growth at Trinity Lutheran Church, Litchfield Park, AZ, from 1990-1994. Since 1994 she has served as Vernacular Media Consultant with Lutheran Bible Translators, Aurora, IL. Her experience with LBT included terms of service in various parts of Africa and she has received additional training in sociolinguistics and language program planning as part of her expertise in non print media. Ms. Zobel has additional interests that include liturgical art, hand dying of fabrics, quilting and other textile arts. Musical interests include indigenous music of many cultures as well as playing the flute, guitar, dulcimer, and other American folk instruments.
